Christian Radio

So for the past year or two I sort of unofficially swore of christian radio for several reasons. The first being it's repetitive the same songs that are on now were on five years ago with a couple additions. Second being it's just too damn optimistic, I mean seriously no one is that happy all the time. If a Mormon family started a radio station it would sound just like 91.9. But recently I have to admit that it showed back up on my radio speed dial and I have listened to it on and off. I usually can't make it through a whole song but for the one out of twenty songs that was actually worth the artist writing it's worth having there.

Let's explore some philisophical views of mine

Alright so I'm a really confused person and I've pretty much developed my own philosophy assuming the rest of the world should be just as confused as me.

So I accept the bible as truth but I really can't say that to anyone because I have no way to prove it and if you do have a way to prove it you're just making things up. I love when I tell people that you can't prove a definite right and wrong, they say no Bene their is definitely right and wrong. You see that bugs me I never said that their wasn't right and wrong I just said you can't prove it. I feel like people have to realize that their faith is just that faith. I'm not saying I can prove salvation to you, I'm just saying that I believe it. Saying that a watch has to have a watch maker does not prove creation sure it might make sense but that's all, you have to take the rest on faith.

This thought that nothing can be proven can really be carried to everything. Look at science, gravity isn't proven it's just the most likely thing. I can jump out of a tree 1,000 times and fall to the ground but does that really prove it. All that it means is that it happens a lot. It shows that I generally fall but it doesn't say that I would always fall such a test is impossible. The only thing we have going for us on our existence is "I think therefore I am" but does that really mean that I exist. I admit it makes it hard to question but it could turn out one day that none of this is real and we would never know because we can't know anything seeing as we didn't exist in the first place.

So when I say things like morals are relative it's not because I don't believe there's a wrong and right, I'm just unable to pin it, and there's always the chance that none of this is real anyways.

The Journey

Alright so my name is Bene and I live in Charlotte NC I was born up North and like to pretend that I still live their but I don't and soon I will have lived more than half my life in the south. This is gonna be a blog with no specific line of thought just me talking about Jesus, world view, politics, books, things I've written, youtube videos, pretty much anything. Me and my friend Brian have a blog at RedBlueJesus.blogspot.com that is more focused on politics but I wanted to make this blog so that I could get away from argument in so you can see where I'm coming from without me having to defend myself. Oh and to clarify things a bit, I don't believe in correct grammar I only believe that if it can roll of the tongue without sounding ignorant it's okay.

Flobots
So I found this really sweet band that I think everyone needs to listen to and hopefully do something about(myself included). Their like Rage Against the Machine but a lot more optimistic and not as violent so it's a plus for those of us who hate the system Flobots is a music for an angry generation, but instead of saying "F u I won't do what you tell me" their saying "Stand up We shall not be moved Except By a child with no socks and shoes". I seriously suggest looking in to them for anyone serious about making a change they give good ideas.
Generally I carry a fair amount of anti-American sentiment but the band has a great way of putting things so that those who are still stuck in our imperialistic system can get involved as well. They are part of a website americawillbe.org it's sort of an odd website all the people pictured on it wear American flag's sorta like terrorists. The whole idea is sorta based on a Langston Hugh's poem America Will Be it's sorta long to make you read it but go ahead and check it out. The tone of the poem is that the people have to take America back and make it into an America that we can be proud to call our home.
The problem is that most people are proud to call America their home and that's a real problem. What are we proud of? I have a hard time being proud of anything and I probably will never be proud to be an American even if somehow we can change it, but if your gonna be proud of something you should be proud of something worthwhile. So for those of you who are not entirely turned of by the system that we live in I want to offer up this to you. Be proud of the America that will be not the America that is. Be proud of the America that we must work together to help create.

Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death,The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies,We, the people, must redeem The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers. The mountains and the endless plain--All, all the stretch of these great green states--And make America again!
- Langston Hughes
